International INNOVATE and DI-VET Projects at the Research Days 2025


Helena Miettinen and Pia Rojo from Helsinki Business College Oy presented the college’s international Erasmus+ projects at the Research Days for Universities of Applied Sciences and VocationalEducation, held in Kokkola in 2025.
The event provided an excellent opportunity to share experiences and explore how innovation and diversityare reflected in the development of vocational education. The Research Days were organized by Ottu rytogether with local educational organizations, attracting more than a hundred participants eager to exchangeideas and insights.
💡 INNOVATE – Innovation Management in Educational Institutions and Companies
How can organizations build an innovative leadership culture and use new tools to drive change?
These are the key questions addressed by the Erasmus+ INNOVATE project, coordinated by Helsinki Business College Oy. The project develops tools and strategies to support innovation management in botheducational institutions and SMEs.
According to the ISO 56000 standard, innovation management can be defined as the process by which an organization manages and oversees its innovation-related activities. It can be divided into four main areas: culture, capability, strategy, and structure.
The project has produced an Innovation Manual and online training course offering practical resources for ideation, innovation processes, and leadership development. These tools help enhance innovation management competencies in a flexible and accessible way.

🌍 DI-VET – Diverse and High-Quality Work-Based Learning
The DI-VET project promotes high-quality work-based learning, with a special focus on supportingstudents from diverse cultural backgrounds. The project identifies good practices and improves work-basedlearning processes in Poland, Spain, Sweden, and Finland, while developing training and practical toolsfor teachers and companies.
Both projects are funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union.
