Tuition fee

As of 1 August 2026, education is subject to a tuition fee for non-nationals of EU Member States, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway or Switzerland (Act on Vocational Education and Training 531/2017 § 105a). Those who have already come or are coming to Finland for study purposes are subject to a tuition fee.

However, the tuition fee is not charged if the student

• has a permanent residence permit (P)
• has a continuous residence permit (A), unless the student’s or their sponsor’s permit or first permit has been granted on the basis of study
• holds an EU blue card or a long-term EU residence permit for a third-country national and not for a member of their family
• who has a residence permit on the basis of temporary protection
• who is subject to compulsory education

The tuition fee for students starting in August 2026 is 8,484 euros per academic year. The tuition fee is valid for the entire duration of the student’s studies.
