Travelling in Helsinki

HSL You can buy daily tickets up to 13 days. For example, AB ticket (valid in Helsinki area) 3 days costs 18,00e and 6 days costs 31,50e. For you it is enough to have AB zones to commute to most of the places. From the airport you need ABC ticket. You can buy single ticket for that when you come from the airport to the city. You can buy tickets on HSL application or at tickets machines at the airport or railway station in Helsinki.

Travelling to Business College

To Pasila (Business College) you can take any local train from the main railway station. Usually tracks 15-19 are easiest and fastest to reach when you come by foot to the station. From your hotel you can either walk or take tram to the station. If you download the HSL application, you can always easily find the fastest routes and timetables.

Saunas and Other Cultural Activities

  • Allas Sea Pool, Outdoor pools with sauna in the middle of city. Both cold and heated pools.
  • Löyly, Different kinds of saunas and possibility to swim in the sea. Restaurant and snacks available by the fire. Book your visit in advance.
  • Kotiharju Sauna, Built in 1928, has maintained its original atmosphere throughout the decades. Customers range from the neighborhood regulars to bachelor parties.

  • Central Library Oodi, Very nice and modern library with very many features and makerspaces etc.
  • Suomenlinna Sea Fortress, An island just in front of Helsinki. You can access the island by ferry. The tickets are same as for any public transport.

  • myhelsinki.fi, A lot of tips on what to do and where to eat and shop etc.

  • Porvoo, About 1 hour bus drive from Helsinki. It is an old city (2nd oldest in Finland), founded 1380. Beautiful old city and lovely restaurants. You can take for example OnniBus which is very cheap.
  • Nuuksio, Lovely national park close to Helsinki. You can go by bus and have a hike or just go for coffee in Haltia (Finnish Nature Centre).
